The NJ Diabetes Educators Annual Meeting offers a comprehensive, evidence-based program designed to advance clinical knowledge and professional practice for diabetes educators.

This year’s curriculum features expert-led presentations addressing key areas of contemporary diabetes care, including hormonal influences on metabolic health across the female lifespan presented by Dr. Aviva Cohn; the role of lifestyle therapy and antidiabetic medications in preserving muscle mass and quality presented by Dr. Steven Malin; and best practices for transitioning care from adolescence to adulthood presented by Dr. Camillie Michaud.

Additional sessions will examine equitable and inclusive implementation of diabetes technology with Amanda Kirpitch and provide a structured overview of artificial intelligence applications in diabetes management for multidisciplinary care teams, presented by Hannah Kittrell.

Collectively, these sessions emphasize the translation of current research into clinical practice, with a focus on adding practical, evidence informed tools to the educator’s toolbox that support improved patient centered outcomes across diverse care settings.

Participants will earn 5 continuing education credits.

This annual meeting reflects months of thoughtful planning and collaboration by a dedicated team of volunteer diabetes educators committed to delivering high-quality, accredited professional education. We kindly ask participants to recognize the time, expertise, and care involved in developing this program—from speaker selection and content review to meeting continuing education standards and coordinating logistics. Your active participation, completion of evaluations, and continued support through membership, volunteering, or future leadership involvement help sustain and strengthen our shared professional community and ensure the ongoing delivery of meaningful, relevant educational opportunities for diabetes educators across New Jersey.
