Learning Objectives:
1. Review evidence and current recommendations for the use of kidney protective agents in persons with diabetes and chronic kidney disease (CKD)
2. State the proposed rationale for the kidney protective effects of SGLT2 inhibitors
3. Select an individualized therapy plan, including lifestyle modifications and pharmacotherapy, for a person with diabetes and CKD
4. Identify an appropriate monitoring plan to evaluate the efficacy and safety of pharmacotherapy in the progression of CKD
