Description
This presentation provides an introductory overview of open-source automated insulin delivery (AID) systems, including Loop, Trio and AAPS. Attendees will gain an overview to how these systems function, what is needed for each system and which individuals may be appropriate users. Along with discussion of each system’s unique features, this program emphasizes best practices for onboarding, safety considerations, and real-world evidence and clinical experience for best patient outcomes.
Learning Outcome
Participants will be able to describe the key components of open-source AID systems, identify appropriate users, and implement practical support strategies within the diabetes care and education framework. Participants will also be well versed in the unique features each open-source system has to offer those using the system, including caregivers.
