Gain the knowledge and skills you need to facilitate a CDC-recognized lifestyle change program to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. By becoming a trained Lifestyle Coach, you’ll enhance your professional skills as you help people with prediabetes eat healthy, move more, and manage stress.

Through ADCES’s Lifestyle Coach Training, you’ll learn all about the National Diabetes Prevention Program, understand the responsibilities of Lifestyle Coaches, and explain how an intensive lifestyle change program can prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. You’ll discover how to motivate participants, deliver content in engaging and culturally connected ways, and facilitate lifestyle change groups.

What to expect:

  • A two-day training, delivered in English or Spanish, led by an experienced ADCES Master Trainer
  • A comprehensive overview of the PreventT2 or PrevengaT2 Curriculum
  • Essential CDC materials including the Lifestyle Coach Training Guide and Participant Guide  
  • Additional materials to assess participant readiness, develop cohesive groups, and stay on track for CDC recognition
  • Hands-on practice in motivational interviewing, self-management skill building, and group facilitation
  • 6 months complimentary access to ADCES’s Prevention Network, a hub with tools, resources, and guidance in developing a successful and sustainable program
  • Complimentary access to the online course Prevention 101: Fundamentals of Diabetes and Prediabetes ($89 value)
  • 12 CE credits for nurses, dietitians, and pharmacists
  • Display the ADCES Lifestyle Coach PreventT2 Lifestyle Change Program badge after successful completion. Learn more
