The Invisible Load of Diabetes: Stress, Hormones, and the Emotional Work No One Sees focuses on the often unrecognized emotional, psychological, and physiological demands of living with diabetes. This conference will equip healthcare professionals with practical strategies and explore the role of stress physiology and hypercortisolism in diabetes management, introduce motivational interviewing techniques to support behavior change, and highlight innovative approaches—AI and app-based technologies—to reduce diabetes distress and treatment burden. Participants will also gain insight into medication related distress and the critical role of interdisciplinary care teams in helping individuals navigate the daily challenges of diabetes. Together, these sessions aim to enhance clinical practice, improve patient engagement and outcomes, reduce emotional and treatment burden, and promote more holistic, person-centered diabetes care.
