Description
This activity is designed to equip healthcare professionals with a comprehensive understanding of the various types of insulin currently available for managing diabetes, including insulin's pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.
Through case-based learning, participants will apply their knowledge to formulate person-centered insulin treatment plans for people with diabetes from a variety of populations and social determinants of health. Cases will focus on approaches to optimal insulin management, including how and when to add, continue or deprescribe insulin.
Learning Outcome
Diabetes care and education specialists will state an increased understanding of the various insulin products and be able to discuss and formulate medication treatment plans for people with diabetes from various populations and social determinants of health.
Activity Type
This is a knowledge-based learning activity. This 90-minute online session includes a presentation followed by a question-and-answer period.
