Description

This webinar provides a practical, patient‑centered look at how to deliver effective training and onboarding for automated insulin delivery (AID) systems, helping clinicians build confidence while reducing early patient drop‑off. The session explores what successful onboarding looks like from start to finish, including realistic timelines, staffing considerations, and strategies for setting clear expectations with both patients and caregivers. Participants will learn how training approaches may differ between individuals with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and how to proactively address common fears, hesitations, and early challenges that often emerge in the first weeks of therapy. The program also highlights tools, education techniques, and follow‑up planning methods that support sustained engagement. By the end, attendees will leave with best practices for efficient training, insights into common onboarding pitfalls, and role‑specific guidance tailored for DCESs, pharmacists, and prescribers.

This webinar is the fourth in our seven-part AID series.
Part 1: Automated Insulin Delivery 101: Core Concepts & Patient Selection
Part 2: Getting to Know the AID Landscape: Current & Future Options
Part 3: Prescribing AID: Documentation, Workflow, and Team Roles
Part 5 (July 21): Clinical Follow-Up & Troubleshooting: Optimizing Outcomes in AID
Part 6 (September 24): Case Studies in AID: Real-World Scenarios
Part 7 (October TBD): Access & Affordability: Ensuring Equity in AID Therapy
