Many of the patients with type 2 diabetes you see every week are also living with MASH, and for those with moderate to advanced liver fibrosis there is now an FDA approved treatment option. This webinar introduces diabetes care and education specialists and advanced practice practitioners (APPs) to Rezdiffra (resmetirom): who it is indicated for, how it works, and what the clinical data show. 

Building on our earlier MASLD/MASH disease state programs with this audience, this session moves from recognition to action. You will learn which patients may be appropriate for treatment, what to expect when starting therapy, and how monitoring and follow up fit into the care you already provide.

Dr. Taher Modarressi is an endocrinologist at Advocare Princeton Cardiometabolic Health in Pennington, New Jersey. He is board certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, clinical lipidology, obesity medicine, and internal medicine.   

He earned his bachelor's degree from Princeton University and his medical degree from NYU School of Medicine, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed an internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and then an endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.   

Dr. Modarressi serves on several scientific advisory boards and is active in clinical research and publication. His work focuses on cardiovascular risk reduction across diabetes, obesity, lipid disorders, and emerging MASLD and MASH therapies, including identification and management of MASLD and MASH in cardiometabolic populations and real world uptake of these therapies. He also reviews for multiple journals, including The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism and the Journal of Clinical Lipidology.
