Power of Partnership: Get Connected
Aug 2, 2012, 01:00 AM
The theme of AADE12 is Power of Partnership. This can come in many different forms. Many of us in Indianapolis are making new friends and creating new partnerships. But, what about those who are not here and what about the other 361 days of the year? How do we get partnerships? How do we stay connected?
One great way is to take full advantage of MY AADE NETWORK.
There are different ways to interact on the network. I was not sure of the differences until recently and expect others might not be either.
As a member of AADE, you are automatically subscribed to receive State Network Announcements. If you want to learn about important news from leaders in your state, go to the megaphone on the right side of your state’s MY AADE NETWORK page and read the announcements. If you do not update your subscriptions, you will only get State Announcements. What are you missing? Statewide Discussions, the place for communicating with other members in your state.
It makes me think of the expression “You don’t know what you don’t know.” The posts and other information in discussions only come to you if you subscribe to receive them. There are two easy ways to subscribe to your CB and LNG discussions. Either hit the “subscribe” button in any announcement list or discussion forum you’re browsing on the site. Another way is to just go to your profile to update, use the drop down box on top to choose discussions and select your CB and your LNG. Something else you might not realize is that you can sign up for as many CBs and LNGs as you would like. Do you want to know what is going on in a state/region you used to live in or where you grew up, vacation, live part of the year, have family, went to school, have friends/colleagues or in a group that you hear is doing amazing things? You can just subscribe to the discussions in those CBs/LNGs.
Not to worry. Your e-mailbox will not be flooded. There is a moderate amount of traffic in these areas. I would like to see more. I would like to see more members benefit from these partnerships by being connected. What could you gain by subscribing? What I see in various groups is information about local meetings, job postings, webinar offerings, questions/answers about clinical practice including patient care and all that goes with that (forms, protocols, etc.) to mention a few topics. Think of information you would like and information you can provide to others. I hope you take a minute to update your profile to be more connected. There is so much to be gained from your peers and so much you can offer. Enjoy the Power of Partnership with MY AADE NETWORK.
