Get Your Tweet on at #AADE17

Calling all tweets!! If you’re attending #AADE17 please consider sharing your experience with others on social media. There are so many gems of information to glean in sessions that can be shared far and wide to those of us attending or at home. If you cannot attend, follow along on Twitter using the hashtag #AADE17 for the conference – it’s amazing what you can learn just by lurking. This is probably the one instance where “lurking” is not considered creepy, so “lurk” away!
When there is a conference I can’t attend, I often search the associated hashtag and follow along. You can also connect with so many people this way, for example, I metHope Warshaw via social media back in 2011! We were both going to a live #DSMA Twitter event and I finally connected with her in person! I’ve met so many people since then who are both healthcare professionals and patient advocates who keep inspiring me each day.
Twitter is also a great tool to alert people about an event or reference they may otherwise miss. I cannot count the times I have learned about a new product, a helpful tip or a news tidbit I would have completely missed.
One of the things I like best about social media is the ability to connect in real-time with others. When you think about using social media and usernames, you don’t often think about the REAL people behind them. This is the time to connect the dots and meet the people IRL (in real life). Hit me up, I’d love to say hi!
