    • The G7 15 Day uses a new algorithm requiring a 60-minute warm-up (versus 30 minutes for the standard G7). Counsel individuals to plan sensor changes at a convenient time — not right before a meal, exercise session, or bedtime — to avoid a gap in glucose visibility.
    • The G7 15 Day is indicated for adults ages 18 years and older with diabetes: type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and diabetes during pregnancy, including gestational diabetes. For pediatric patients, the standard G7 (10-day wear) remains the appropriate choice.
    • Review site rotation and skin assessment as part of CGM education. Alternating approved wear locations may help reduce skin irritation and adhesion challenges. Review labeled guidance about avoiding areas with irritation, scarring, tattoos, or excess hair
    • Set realistic expectations around sensor wear and remind individuals to keep a backup sensor on hand in case of early failure.
    • With up to 15 days of wear, adhesion is a greater challenge than with shorter-wear devices. Recommend using the included overpatch. For active individuals, those in hot climates, or those with oily skin, additional options such as Skin Tac, SkinGrip, or Simpatch can improve longevity. Remind individuals to apply the skin prep wipe and let it dry fully before insertion — inserting too soon after a shower or exercise is a common cause of early sensor failure.
    • Verify compatibility of the G7 15 Day CGM at  at dexcom.com/compatibility before transitioning AID system users.
    • Medicare requires a dedicated Dexcom receiver as a display device. Confirm receiver eligibility and procurement during the DME ordering process to prevent delays
    • Review and customize key alerts: Urgent Low Soon (warns up to 20 minutes before severe hypoglycemia), Delay First High (helps reduce insulin stacking), and high/low threshold alerts. Tailoring these settings to the individual’s glucose targets and lifestyle reduces alert fatigue, reduces diabetes burden and supports sustained CGM use.
    • Encourage individuals to share Clarity data with the care team to identify recurring patterns (nocturnal hypoglycemia, post-meal spikes, dawn phenomenon) that may not be apparent from A1C alone. Review ambulatory glucose profile (AGP) reports at follow-up visits to guide therapy adjustments.
    • Up to 10 followers can receive real-time glucose data and alerts via the Follow app. This is particularly valuable for individuals who experience hypoglycemia unawareness, older adults, or those with cognitive impairment. The sensor must be within 33 feet of the display device (smartphone or receiver) for data sharing to function reliably.
