ADCES Receives 2025 Power of Associations Silver Award for Its Showcase the Value of Your DSMES Services Toolkit

Jul 24, 2025, 12:02 by Diana Pihos
ADCES has been recognized as a Power of Associations Silver Award winner by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) for the development of a toolkit that helps diabetes care and education specialists successfully promote their services within their local communities.

[CHICAGO, IL]The Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists has been recognized as a Power of Associations Silver Award winner by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) for the development of a toolkit that helps diabetes care and education specialists (DCES) successfully promote their services within their local communities.

More specifically, the toolkit provides tips, stories, lessons learned and resources that will help the DCES effectively communicate with three different audiences: Health system administrators, prescribers and people living with diabetes. The toolkit is so powerful because it shares real-life experiences from a wide variety of working DCESs.

“Congratulations to ADCES for exemplifying the impact associations have on the industries and professions they represent, and on society at large,” said ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. “It’s always so incredibly satisfying to see associations going above and beyond their everyday mission to change the world. We’re very proud to spotlight this award-winning initiative."

"Studies consistently show DCESs drive better outcomes and lower costs through integrated, coordinated care—yet their services remain underutilized,” said ADCES CEO Matt Hornberger, MBA, CAE. “With our new Showcase the Value of Your Services toolkit, ADCES is equipping DCESs with the tools they need to clearly demonstrate their value to health system leaders, providers and people with diabetes. This resource, grounded in real-world practice and enhanced by interactive design, transforms clinical impact into compelling communication. It’s a powerful example of how member feedback fuels innovation that strengthens diabetes self-management education and support (DSMES) and improves lives."
