ADCES Announces Newly Elected National Leaders

ADCES members elect Chris Memering to serve as president-elect in 2027, automatically becoming president in 2028. Others were elected to a variety of leadership positions.


CHICAGO, IL - The Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (ADCES) announced its newly elected officials this morning at the association’s 2026 annual meeting in Columbus. The newly elected members will begin their term of service on January 1, 2027.

Chris Memering, MSN, RN, CDCES, BC-ADM, FADCES, has been chosen as the 2027 president-elect. Memering is an experienced diabetes care and education specialist with expertise in inpatient diabetes care, education, and quality initiatives, including leadership of an Inpatient Diabetes Quality Committee. She has served in various volunteer and leadership roles within ADCES, including serving on the ADCES Board of Directors and as co-lead of the Inpatient Diabetes Management Community of Interest.

2027 Nominating Committee

Along with the newly elected officers and Board members, Gwen Klinkner, DNP, RN, BC-ADM, CDCES, FADCES, will officially begin her one-year term as acting President of the association on January 1.

The 2027 national leaders will work closely alongside ADCES staff leadership to serve the association’s members and will play a pivotal role in continuing the efforts outlined in ADCES’ 2024-2028 strategic plan.
