T1D1 (Type 1 Diabetes from Day 1 of diagnosis) is an FDA-cleared Class II medical device and the first over-the-counter insulin calculator available for individuals aged 2 and older. Designed to be simple and accessible, the app empowers people (especially newly diagnosed youth and their families) to manage diabetes and calculate with confidence from the very first day. What does T1D1 do?
​T1D1 allows users to:
  • Calculate insulin doses multiple times per day using personalized carb ratios, sensitivity factors, and target ranges
  • Log blood glucose, carbs, and insulin in one easy-to-use app
  • Share data and trends directly with healthcare providers for better-informed clinical decisions
  • Record carbs for frequently eaten foods to make carb counting easier

By simplifying the technical side of diabetes care, T1D1 reduces the mental load on patients and caregivers alike—especially during the early weeks and months of adjusting to a new diagnosis.

One special feature is that the app works with or without WiFi. Once reconnected, all data will sync to provide access to all.

Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) is structured around seven diabetes self-care behaviors, known as the ADCES7 Self-Care Behaviors®. Diabetes care and education specialists can help you set priorities and work with you on improving your own management in each of the following areas:

  • Healthy Coping - Staying positive about diabetes and self-care.
  • Taking Medication - Adhering to prescribed medication in terms of timing, dosage, frequency, and duration.
  • Reducing Risks - Recognizing risks and adopting behaviors to prevent diabetes complications.
  • Problem Solving - Identifying and solving issues for better diabetes outcomes.
