Tidepool Mobile is a companion app to the Tidepool Data Platform. Users can view diabetes data from multiple devices in one smartphone app. Tidepool Mobile also allows users to categorize diabetes data using hashtags and notes.

Using Tidepool Mobile, users can:

  • comment on data to add context
  • organize diabetes data and review trends
  • share health data and comments with care partners
  • sync data from Apple Health
  • track meals, exercise and insulin
  • view data from a continuous glucose monitor, glucose meter and insulin pump.

Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) is structured around seven diabetes self-care behaviors, known as the ADCES7 Self-Care Behaviors®. Diabetes care and education specialists can help you set priorities and work with you on improving your own management in each of the following areas:

  • Healthy Coping - Staying positive about diabetes and self-care.
  • Healthy Eating - Consuming a wide variety of nutrient-rich foods for health.
  • Being Active - Making exercise a daily lifestyle habit.
  • Taking Medication - Adhering to prescribed medication in terms of timing, dosage, frequency, and duration.
  • Monitoring - Tracking data influencing diabetes outcomes.
  • Problem Solving - Identifying and solving issues for better diabetes outcomes.

Users must download the Tidepool Uploader on a desktop to sync diabetes data from devices to the Tidepool Data Platform. Data is also viewable in the Tidepool Mobile app after users sync device data to the Tidepool Data Platform.

Android and iOS devices have accessibility features that can be enabled and used with many downloadable apps. The Tidepool Mobile app does not have any additional accessibility features.

Tidepool Mobile cannot:

  • recommend insulin doses
  • replace care from a licensed health care provider
  • sync with Google Health Kit.

  • Deleting a note in Tidepool Mobile is permanent.
  • Individuals can use the search bar at the top of the screen to search through saved notes.
  • Tapping a note shows synced data seven hours before and after the note’s timestamp.
  • Users should create a Tidepool account before using Tidepool Mobile.
