Program Overview

Managing glucose in children and adolescents often requires navigating situations that do not fit neatly into standard insulin dosing approaches. From unpredictable activity levels and school-day routines to high-carbohydrate celebrations and evolving use of automated insulin delivery (AID) systems, pediatric diabetes care demands flexibility and timely decision-making. This webinar will examine where inhaled insulin may fit within these real-world scenarios and discuss practical considerations for educators supporting pediatric patients and families.

Using case-based examples, faculty will explore unique pediatric situations where inhaled insulin has been incorporated into care plans, including sports and exercise, managing postprandial excursions, complementing AID technology, and supporting diabetes management in the school setting. Attendees will gain perspectives on communicating with families, coordinating with school health personnel, and helping children and adolescents safely navigate everyday challenges while maintaining glycemic goals.

This event is limited to the first 1,000 registrants.

Learning Objectives

After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:
1. Recognize pediatric care situations in which inhaled insulin may be considered as part of an individualized diabetes management strategy.
2. Discuss practical approaches for addressing glucose management challenges related to exercise, school-day routines, high-carbohydrate foods, and use alongside AID technologies.
3. Develop education and communication strategies that support collaboration among children, caregivers, school nurses, and the diabetes care team when inhaled insulin is incorporated into a treatment plan.
