Description

Inhaled insulin offers a unique mealtime insulin option that may help address many of the challenges adults face in diabetes management, including injection burden, treatment fatigue, postprandial glucose excursions, and lifestyle-related barriers to adherence. This program will provide an overview of inhaled insulin therapy, including its clinical profile, patient selection considerations, and practical strategies for integrating it into individualized diabetes care plans.

Through a series of real-world case reports, faculty will explore how inhaled insulin has been used to help overcome common barriers to care in adults with diabetes. Cases will highlight patient-centered approaches to addressing concerns such as fear of injections, hypoglycemia, delayed mealtime dosing, and the need for greater flexibility, while providing CDCES professionals with practical insights they can apply in their own clinical practice.

This event is limited to the first 1,000 registrants.

Learning Objectives

After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the clinical role of inhaled insulin, including key considerations for patient selection, initiation, and integration into diabetes management plans.
2. Identify common barriers to optimal glycemic management in adults with diabetes and evaluate how inhaled insulin may help address challenges such as injection burden, treatment fatigue, and postprandial glucose control.
3. Apply insights from real-world case reports to develop individualized strategies for incorporating inhaled insulin into adult diabetes care and patient education.
