Find Answers and Connection on ADCES Connect!

Technology can transform diabetes management, but sometimes a simple technical hurdle can leave patients feeling stuck. Fortunately, the power of community and collaboration recently turned a frustrating situation into a quick success story.

When Dawn Hebert, MS, RN, CDCES, needed help navigating a pump update for someone transitioning to Dexcom G7 sensors, she turned to the Diabetes Technology Community of Interest (COI) on ADCES Connect. Within 18 minutes, a colleague responded with a practical suggestion: bring the person into the clinic to work through the process together. Another member shared manufacturer resources to help troubleshoot. Later that day, Dawn reported that the issue had been resolved.

That exchange shows the value of having a community to turn to when challenges arise in your practice. Through ADCES Connect, members can ask questions, share resources, and learn from peers with similar interests and experience. Whether you’re navigating diabetes technology or working through a practice question, you have colleagues to help you along the way!

These connections also create opportunities to learn beyond the question at hand. Reading a discussion may introduce you to a resource you hadn’t considered or an approach you can use in your own practice. Sharing what worked for you can give another diabetes care and education specialist a place to start when they encounter a similar situation.

You don’t have to work through every challenge alone. Explore the Communities of Interest on ADCES Connect to find your peers, join a discussion and share your own expertise. Your next question could start a conversation that helps someone else, too!
