The use of diabetes technology is exploding and ever changing, with new and improved insulin pumps, CGMs, connected pens and mobile apps releasing on a near continuous basis. In this session at the upcoming ADCES Diabetes Technology Conference, Dr. Dhiren Patel and I will provide an overview of the various new connected devices.

There has been a lot of excitement in this space, with Medtronic Guardian Connect and Dexcom G6 pairing with the InPen and now FreeStyle Libre 2 pairing with Bigfoot Unity connected pen cap to offer smart technology for people using multiple daily injections.  And the automated insulin delivery arena is so exciting with Tandem Control IQ, Medtronic 670G/770 and the up-coming 780G. Omnipod 5 the hybrid-closed loop should be here soon, with great results published from their pivotal clinical trial.  Also in the pipeline is beta bionics dual hormone insulin pump and Tidepool Loop which was submitted to the FDA.

In our session, we will discuss some of the key features of these new systems and how we can identify the right technology for the right person at the right time, configure that technology, and then collaborate with the person with diabetes to optimize the treatment plan.

It truly is an exciting time! And Dhiren and I will see you this December 10-11 in Chicago for the conference and that you will join us for this interactive session where we deep dive into all the new connected technology.
