Description
After decades of research, we can now screen for autoantibodies and realize the potential benefits of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) screening. Diabetes care and education specialists play an important role in the T1D screening journey. Early detection allows people with diabetes and caregivers time to develop the skills they will need to sustain optimal glycemic management. Screening has been shown to help improve outcomes, including prevention of DKA, provide an opportunity to develop skills to sustain optimal glycemic management, and potentially reduce stress and anxiety.
