Description

This program reviews key updates from the 2026 ADA Standards of Care in Diabetes, focusing on optimizing insulin delivery for people with diabetes requiring prandial insulin. It will discuss treatment modalities—including automated insulin delivery (AID), multiple daily injections (MDI), and inhaled insulin—while emphasizing individualized, person-centered decision-making.

Participants will explore ongoing unmet needs in mealtime insulin use, including glycemic variability, hypoglycemia, medication taking challenges, and quality-of-life impact, and assess how inhaled insulin may help address gaps through its rapid pharmacokinetics and ease of use.

The session also provides practical guidance on clinical implementation, including patient selection, dosing, titration, and key pulmonary safety considerations to support confident integration into practice.

Learning Objectives

After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:
1. Apply 2026 ADA Standards to optimize prandial insulin therapy and delivery (AID, MDI, inhaled insulin).
2. Identify unmet needs in mealtime insulin use and evaluate the role of inhaled insulin in improving glycemic management, convenience, and persistent insulin taking.
3. Implement inhaled insulin in practice, including patient selection, dosing, titration, and pulmonary safety.
