Prior to joining Medtronic, Jennifer McVean, MD was an associate professor of Pediatric Endocrinology at the University of Minnesota. She attended medical school at the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed a pediatric residency at the University of Colorado. Dr. McVean completed her pediatric endocrinology fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She envisioned and is co-protocol chair of the JDRF funded "Hybrid Closed Loop Therapy and Verapamil for Beta Cell Preservation in New Onset Type 1 Diabetes" study.

Dr. McVean's passion for type 1 diabetes stems from her own diagnosis at age 11. Her clinical and research goal is to reduce burden in people living with T1D. Dr. McVean is actively involved in the diabetes community on multiple JDRF committees and is a member of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and Pediatric Endocrine Society (PES).

Andrew Garza is a Physician Assistant from Fort Worth Texas. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science and Arts in Biology. He then went on to attend the University of North Texas Health Science Center where he graduated with honors with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree. He is an active member of American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, Endocrine Society, American Academy of Physician Assistant, and Texas Academy of Physician Assistants.
